Flowers + Cameras

Hello. How are you all? I was out walking down a few streets the other day and noticed there were so many pretty flowers blooming! I took a few photos of nearly all of them. The colours are so amazing, I love how they turned out. It was a pretty cloudy day today, which is odd in Australia! You may be able to see the clouds in the second photo, although they were much darker. I had to edit most of them, I hope I did an okay job at it. Also, I have some very exciting news! I have two interviews that will be up soon. One with Chloe Larkin of A Little Birdy Blog (I am sure you have all heard of her!) and one with Stephanie of Baba Souk (Baba Souk is an online Canadian boutique based in Montreal).

Also, I have been contemplating whether to purchase a proper DSLR camera or not, just so I can take some decent photos for this blog to make it a little more... personal, I guess. Do any of you have a favourite camera? What would you recommend? I have heard good things about the Cannon rebel T3i and T4i. My phone takes alright pictures in good lighting but when the lighting is bad they turn out awfully grainy.

I edited all the photos with Pixelmator and I took all the pictures with my Lumia 720 (it was all I had on me!) my phone did a pretty good job though. I also just wanted to thank you all for your support and comments in the past couple of weeks. It really helps me out! I hope you are all well and have a great weekend. Woohoo! Friday x

  1. I didn't consider how different your Australian flowers would be than my American ones! Those are absolutely gorgeous! :)

  3. I love all the different colored photos of the flowers...very pretty.. I don't use a professional camera... I just use my phone but I know a good camera is the way to go if you want to take quality pictures.. :)

  4. These pictures are lovely; I don't think you would be harmed to just stick to your phone. Those big cameras are pretty hefty! If you can continue doing such a good job with your phone, I don't see why you would need anything better. Though if you have a strong interest in photography I suppose it would have better functions. x

  6. Love the flowers! What kind of plant is that on the first photo? I actually own a t2i, a much earlier model than those you mentioned and any dslr takes decent quality photos especially of flowers! :)

  7. Your photos turned out great. I would recommend the Canon EOS M. I wanted a good camera to take nice photos with for my blog too, and after seeing that the EOS M had had some great reviews and one of my favourite bloggers uses it, I purchased mine on finance! I I took some lovely photos of flowers myself with this camera which you can see in this post - http://www.yazzyscorner.co.uk/2014/05/photo-diary-stroll-in-west-park.html :)

Great blog by the way will follow you on GFC and Bloglovin :)

  8. Getting any dslr will be awesome for the quality of your photos. Really even the cheapest ones will yield much better photos than your phone does (not that your phone takes bad pictures ;) ) I use a nikon d5200 and I love it. But remember a good camera doesn't take good photos, the photographer is the one who does that! x
